چکیده

This study investigated the microstructure gradient and interfacial strength of CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy bonded by ultrasonic welding (USW). It was found that bonding occurred after for 1.0 s reached about 1500 N (30 MPa shear strength) 7.0 s. Such featured with ultrafine a grain size 100–200 nm, which resulted from discontinuous dynamic recrystallization induced severe plastic strain peak temperature 511 °C. Strain due to deformation in sliding decreased increasing distance interface. contributed microstructural continuous finally dislocation cells. confined areas within 2 μm interface showed no solidification defects or transformation detrimental phases.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of an Ultrasonic Spot Welded Aluminum Alloy: The Effect of Welding Energy

The aim of this study is to evaluate the microstructures, tensile lap shear strength, and fatigue resistance of 6022-T43 aluminum alloy joints welded via a solid-state welding technique-ultrasonic spot welding (USW)-at different energy levels. An ultra-fine necklace-like equiaxed grain structure is observed along the weld line due to the occurrence of dynamic crystallization, with smaller grain...

Microstructure, Tensile and Creep Properties of Ta20Nb20Hf20Zr20Ti20 High Entropy Alloy

This paper examines the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ta20Nb20Hf20Zr20Ti20. Two casting processes, namely, gravity casting and suction-assisted casting, were applied, both followed by Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP). The aim of the current study was to investigate the creep and tensile properties of the material, since the literature review revealed no data whatsoever regarding these...

Evolution of Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a CoCrFeMnNi High-Entropy Alloy during High-Pressure Torsion at Room and Cryogenic Temperatures

High-pressure torsion (HPT) is applied to a face-centered cubic CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy at 293 and 77 K. Processing by HPT at 293 K produced a nanostructure consisted of (sub)grains of ~50 nm after a rotation for 180◦. The microstructure evolution is associated with intensive deformation-induced twinning, and substructure development resulted in a gradual microstructure refinement. Deform...

Microstructure, Welding Mechanism, and Failure of Al/Cu Ultrasonic Welds

Ultrasonic metal welding has been used widely to join battery cell terminals, or tabs (either Al or Cu), with bus bars (Cu) to form assembled battery packs in battery electric vehicles. However, the mechanism of ultrasonic welding for Al/Cu is still not well understood. In this work, the microstructures of the ultrasonic welds between three layers of lithium-ion battery tabs (either Al or Cu) a...

Effect of one-step recrystallization on the grain boundary evolution of CoCrFeMnNi high entropy alloy and its subsystems.

In this study, the grain boundary evolution of equiatomic CoCrFeMnNi, CoCrFeNi, and FeCoNi alloys after one-step recrystallization were investigated. The special boundary fraction and twin density of these alloys were evaluated by electron backscatter diffraction analysis. Among the three alloys tested, FeCoNi exhibited the highest special boundary fraction and twin density after one-step recry...
